Okay, so I'm going to blog about what I'm doing today. But first off, I know this set sucks:) I'm not the best at Polyvore yet, but I'm mainly using it to blog and this is WAY easier than trying to figure out Wordpress or something. Haha.
 
Anyways, I don't have to work tonight so I'm going to the local movie theater with Kailee, Britt, Sam, Justin, and Nick. We'll probably hit up the ice cream parlor after :)
 
But until then, I'm going to drive about 30 minutes inland with my sister and we're going shopping! It's been a while since I've been to the mall since it's so far away. Plus I heard that there are semi-annual sales going on right now so it's perfect timing! We need to get clothes for our upcoming vacation to...MEXICO! :) SO EXCITED!!!
 
I woke up really early today because Kailee was having a boy crisis lol so since then, I've been organizing my candles. FUN LIFE. Haha yeah but my mom has been on me to fix that for a while so I thought "Why not today?"
 
I actually just got a bunch of new candles from Candles by Victoria for summer scents so I guess I'll "haul" them.
 
Scents I purchased: Sea Breeze, Silent Bob Goes to the Beach, Orange Cream Soda, Coco Mango, Sage and Citrus, Lighthouse Point, Tommy Type, and Spearmint.
 
I love this company so much. You should all try it out if you love candles like me lol.

My name is Astoria and I live in a small seaside town on the east coast. I guess I'm what tourists would call a "local". I've lived here my entire life and I spend my summers working in my dad's seafood restaurant, sailing, hanging out with friends on the boardwalk, and reading. Traveling is my greatest love and passion. I go with my mom, who is in the fashion industry, on business trips when I can. During the school year, I attend a small private school barely two miles from the shore, where I will be a senior in the fall. I absolutely love my school and, since it is so small, we are all a family. My town is really small and, while I adore everything about it, I dream of living in New York City when I'm older.
 
I have an older brother, Brendan, who is a sophomore at Brown. I also have a younger sister, Violet, a rising freshman. They can both be a real pain sometimes but I really do love my family.
 
My best friend's names are Kailee, Sofia, Madison, Faith, and Britt. I've known them all, with the exception of Madison, for as long as I can remember. I'm closest with Kailee because we are also family friends and neighbors.
 
Personality-wise, I'm really quiet around people I don't know, but since I know most of the people in my town, I can be myself. Usually at school, I'm a bit more reserved and I try to ignore the popular girls, who live inland in a more populated city and like to tease us "locals". I don't really care, they're stupid anyways.
 
Summer is my favorite season. Hands down. Although I do love my town around spring time because all the flowers are blooming and the tourists haven't flocked in. Winter and Fall are fun because of all the holidays, town festivities, and family time. But summer is just..I don't know..love? lol. I can't explain it but you probably know the feeling.
 
I have long auburn hair that gets slightly blonde highlights during the summer. My favorite part about my appearance are my green eyes :)
 
I looove One Direction, the Beatles, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and DMB. My favorite shows are Teen Wolf, PLL, Modern Family, the Big Bang Theory, Spongebob, and any cheesy ABC family show.
 
I'm super girly, but I love sports, mainly soccer. I love to read, write, shop, swim, hang out with friends, and bake.
 
I also love to watch movies, especially chick flicks, oldies, and Disney movies.

1. Make sure your hair is clean. If your hair is greasy or has left over product in it, take a shower and wash your hair thouroughly. Airdry, towel dry, or blow dry when done.
 
2. Put your normal product you use in your hair after its dry (anti-friz, straightening products, etc.). Apply a heat protectang when done.
 
3. Take the top part of your hair and clip it to the top of your head. Straighten both layers normally. If you want the little flip Selena has at the ends of her hair, then flip the flatiron up when as you finish straightening a section of hair. This technique may take a few times to master.
 
4. Last, part your hairline an inch a way from the center. Voila. You now have Selena-esque hair :)

how to apply red lipstick (like taylor swift) without looking like a clown;
 
1. first, you have to figure out whether your skintone is cool or warm! cool complexions are pale with pink undertones and tend to burn in the sun. warm complexions have yellow, olive and darker undertones or tan easier in the sun. if you have a cool complexion, choose cooler reds like a true red or a pinkish red. with a warm skintone, choose warmer reds with a brown base, such as brick or rusty red.
 
2. matte or glossy!? a matte red lipstick is very formal and should be worn with caution. it can often make you look TOO done up. personally, i would go with a glossier red, like taylor.
 
3. now to applying. first, line and fill inyour lips with a color that closely matches your actual lip color.
 
4. apply the lipstick and blot with a blotting tissue. not a kleenex (it leaves little white particle things).
 
5. lightly dust your lips with powder so it lasts longer. since red lips are dramatic, keep the rest of your face with natural makeup, or you WILL look like bozo the clown :)

-if your teeth aren't exactly crest whitestripped commercial material (which most normal people are), then wearing a red lipstick with blue undertones will help make your pearly whites look a little...more pearly and white.
